Core Cities Summit, Liverpool, 2-4 November
Leading the UK out of recession

The 2007 Core Cities Summit was widely recognised as the most significant urban policy forum of the year; this year’s promises no less, with the launch of our Core Cities Pledge and its ambition and innovation for enabling cities to drive the country’s economy out of recession.

This year, the Core Cities will gather at Liverpool’s Arena and Convention Centre on the 2nd through the 4th of November for an agenda packed with plenaries, roundtables and lunchtime discussions.  Delegates from the Core Cities will join together with their local partners, MPs, Government Ministers, and senior civil servants to explore the empowerment of cities to kick-start not only their own economies, but the wider UK economy.

The Summit will be an opportunity for the Core Cities Group to set out their agenda for the future of our great cities, underpinned by evidence, provided in part by Centre for Cities, our research partner for the event.  This will be a cross-party event, asking senior spokespeople from each party to respond to our ideas and to adopt them in their own parties’ policies.

More details on the Summit will be made available as we near the date.  Keep checking our bulletins and website for information
